Government System
Italy is a parliamentary, socialist democratic republic with a multiparty system. It's executive power is exercised by the council of ministers that are led by the President or "Presidente del Consiglio". Italy most recently voted out Silvio Berlusconi who was believed to be corrupt and paying voters to vote for him. This is all going on during a time where Italy starts to see a large economic decline which has the Italian Government scrambling for solutions.

Economic Activities and Current or Future Issues
-Italy has a wide verity of economic activities. Italy has a large tourism industry as well as a large automotive and clothing industries. Italy also has a large agricultural industry that supplies almost all of the country's food. This self reliance has helped to keep Italy's economy afloat instead of tanking as much as Greece. These four industries have helped to keep this country up to date with the developing world and will continue to in the future.
-Italy currently is going through an economic crises in which the euro is going down. Unemployment is rising and poverty is becoming an issue in some parts of Italy. A city that is a prime example of this is Naples, Italy. Naples is known for being influenced very much by the Camorra or local crime family that has corrupt the local Government. This corruption has led to deaths, famine, and overall chaotic scene for tourists that have to pass through to get to the near by Capri or Amalfi Coast. The other issue that could very soon start to have a large impact is the large elderly population in Italy. This makes it hard for the young Italians to make money because they have to support their older family members while paying up to 50% tax rates. Not to mention they would have to find a job first. These issues are a lot on Italy's plate and if not dealt with Italy will suffer drastically.
